Let's play catch up
Heeeellllllloooooo! Is anybody still out there? I’m back!
Sorry, it has been crazy lately. I got moved from where I was working and didn’t have a computer to work at during the day. Once I get home I don’t even think about a computer. Then I switched jobs completely the week of Halloween. I started working at USEC here in Oak Ridge. They are located at the Boeing site. I work early hours, 7-3:30. Once I get off work I’m ready for a nap.
Basketball has started and we are constantly running during the week. The weekends have been packed too with weddings; party’s, shopping, and trying to catch up on house work. UGH!!
There is so much to get caught up on I don’t even know where to start. I will just hit the high lights- new job, new car, basketball, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, football was ok, Audrey is doing good, Jonathan was diagnosed with Graves disease and is still up to his old tricks. I still need a mental evaluation!

I think I might run away, far away
All I can say is may the force be with you if you have teenagers. By "force" I mean having the Lord almighty, Sweet Jesus, Father above, Holy spirit, strength in you to not eat your young nature about you. I keep hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel but all I'm seeing is this red strobe light. I have just about diagnosed myself with a throbbing brain aneurysm. It only acts up about once a week and it only seems to happen when my son is around or I stumble across his stupidity.
I will go ahead and tell you his latest, since I can finally speak of it without having a migraine. Last Thursday I was collecting some movies that James had rented for Jonathan and his friends to watch when I had to go to Jonathan's room to get 2 of them to return. There were movies scattered everywhere on his entertainment system and I'm sifting through them when I come across this one called "Life in the fast lane" with these 2 barely dressed blondes on the cover. Well it sort of looked like a lagitament movie until I saw who was starring in this movie- Farrah and Shay sweet. I flipped it open to make sure the DVD was in the case when I noticed the title on the DVD said "Blow Job University". HELLO!! I just about fell out. Then I noticed the back of case with all the naked people doing private things in multiple different angles. UUUUGGGGHHH!! Needless to say that all went over like a led balloon. Jonathan swears it was Jareds and Jared says it is not his. Who's ever it is they have a broken DVD at the Roane County landfill.

Job update
Well, my contract was extended until Oct.31. So I will have another month to get placed into another job. Praise the Lord! I hoping that between now and then someone will get fired or quit so that I can stay. THAT IS AWFUL of me! But I can't help it. I have to work, which sucks!

So YOU had a bad day?
Yesterday started very early for me. It started off with James flipping and flopping in the bed so much that I had to leave. It was about 1 in the morning. I headed towards the living room to find Jonathan on the couch. It was quite hilarious to say the least. He had the quilt wrapped around his lower body like a diaper. At that point I decided to sleep on the big chair and ottoman. Thank goodness I'm short. I finally fell asleep, only to be woke up by Jonathan talking in his sleep. I drift back off. Then he is over there farting like he is making popcorn. I drift back off! Only to be woke up again with him kicking like he is in some kind of stomp competition. I'm PO'd but drift back off!! That continued until 6am when I went back to my bed and made James leave for work and I slept until 9:30 and then went to work. Once I finally found a parking spot and badged in the building I find 6 armed gaurds surrounding my desk and tell me not to approach that they have found a suspicious package and that it could be a BOMB. BOMB!! Good Lord, could this day get any worse? I have to stand around for about 20 minutes until they decide to put the package in a bomb bucket and remove it from the building. So from 11 am till 4:45 the day was busy but ok. I leave work and am going towards Kingston on the interstate to pick up Audrey when a Semi blows a tire and causes debris to go all over the place and I run over a large piece of it and it blows my left rear tire. UGH!! I make it to the outside lane along with another car whose same exact tire got destroyed along with mine. I wait on James for 1 hour on the side of the interstate. He finally gets there and changes my tire while I'm calling everywhere trying to find someone with my tires in stock. Nobody has them in stock! Could this day get any worse? We take my car to the shop who will eventually replace my tires and go to get some food to take home and drop my keys off at the guys house that owns the shop. I call dad and he says that I can borrow his truck but he didn't remember if the keys were at the house or with him. I call Jonathan and he says yes the keys are in the truck but the brake lights aren't working. The reason why he knows this is because they drove dad's truck to school that morning and Jonathan got pulled over and the police informed him he had no brake lights. No ticket issued! Could this day get any worse? After much thought I decided to call my boss and ask her if James could drop me off at her house and I ride in to work with her. She said sure, but that she was leaving at 6 am. 6 AM!! Good grief! So I agree and she says let me call you right back. ok. She calls me back and says I have to tell you something and you have to keep it a secret and act surprised when you find out. I said , ok. What is it? Your position has lost it's funding and your last day is September 30th. WHAT! Are you kidding me? No... Could this day get any worse? Or is this the worst? So now I'm waiting on her boss to come tell me the glorious news and I have to re-inact my surprise. Is that possible? I don't think so! I practiced in the mirror and I could never make it look like a real reaction.
Later on....
I call Ronnie Stockton to ask him to help me find a job and am telling him about my day and I get to thru the whole story and say could this day get any worse to him and all of the sudden everything in the house goes DARK!! The freaking power goes out for over an hour!
Good grief! I'm NOT going to say it again, but could this --- --- --- -----? I'm sure you can fill in the blanks.

Uppercase Living Party
Well, If anyone would like to order from the catalog let me know. I invited 40 people and had 4 show up. I guess I don't have any friends:( I choose to believe that they are super busy like me and just couldn't make it. They on the other hand could have called and told me that they wouldn't be coming. I'm just glad I didn't make enough food for 40! Oh well! I will be closing the party on Friday.

Yellowstone
My mom and dad are leaving Sunday to go to Yellowstone for a week long retreat with her brother and sister and their spouses. They will be staying in a condo and visiting all the sites. This is their first time to go on vacation together in 30+ years. Since my Granny Spoon died they made a promise to each other that they would get together at least once a year.
Please keep them all in yours prayers while they are flying to thier destinations. You all know how clumsey my mother is! Hopefully she won't take her Ambien while she is there and decide to go somewhere in the middle of the night. Ugh!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANNIE!!!
Today is my Mom's birthday. I just wanted to let her know how much she means to me. She has always been my friend even when I didn't want her to be. She has always loved me more than I could have imagined until I had my own children. You have blessed me with a wonderful upbringing in Christ that I once tried to run from, but THANK God I came back to. Thank you so much for being my mom!!.jpg)

Carol UPDATE
The cardiologist that specializes in the electricity of the heart(electrophysiologist) has seen Carol and has been watching her closely for a few days now. He has decided that enough of the medicine is out of her system now to determine that her heart is just not wired correctly. This is likely congenital as several of Carol's siblings have similar trouble with their hearts. Carol is going to require a dual chamber pacemaker. This just means that there will be two leads coming from the pacer. One will lead to her upper chambers and the other will lead to her lower chambers. They will fire when needed so that her heart will beat at a good speed as will as in the correct order. She will still need medicine to keep her heart from racing.
She will be getting this put in tomorrow at 3:30ish
Please say a prayer for her!
If you would like to send a card you may use this link to send her one electronically and they will print and post them in her room for her.
They have her as Barbara Bullard, room CCU 10.

Update on Carol
Mom did not get to go to a regular room today, she is still in ICU. She had another cardiologist (Dr. Teague) see her this morning and he decided to do some tests. She had a TEC(internal picture of her heart) and a stress test. His plans were to do the TEC and follow it with cardioversion(shocking the heart back into rhythm) but that had to change after the first test. He said that Mom's heart problem started some time ago and it has just now caught up with her. There is too much damage to do the Cardioversion. One chamber is barely working at this point. His plan (the plan changes with each cardiologist) is to treat her with medication and REST. Lots of rest. In a few weeks, he is hoping to see the heart strengthening. He went forward with the previously postponed stress test today and we will have to wait for those results in the morning. His reasoning was that he needed to know where the damage was and how bad it was in order to treat her as aggressively as possible without over doing it. He also wanted to know for sure if she has had a heartattack.
Mom is still very weak and it doesn't take much at all to have her heart racing. We are trying to be as quiet and calm as a Bullard can be when we visit her. She does seem to be doing a little better. Tonight she got up and we walked over to the sink so she could brush her teeth and she still had enough strength to pull herself up in the bed afterward. Doesn't sound like a big deal but it is a quantum leap from Monday.
Daddy is hanging in there but the concrete floors and those uncomfortable waiting room chairs and the worry really is getting to him.
I think that Nancy is going to set up a caringbridge site and as soon as she does we will let you know the name. That is were we will then post updates.
PLEASE continue to pray for Momma and Daddy.

Prayer please
Carol had a heart attack possibly on Monday could have been one day last week while she was on vacation. She is in ICU at harriman Hospital, room 412. She is doing much better now but is still very week. Here is what Sarah found out from the doctor-
Mom is still in ICU at Harriman Hospital but is breathing much better. Her color is better also. She actually has some! Beverly and Dr. Tedder were both able to take one look at her and tell she was in serious trouble. She had a lot of fluid in and around her heart and lungs and once this was relieved she was able to breath much better. Much better means she can complete a full sentence without stopping to get her breath. She is still exhausted by simply sitting up on the side of the bed and eating her meal. We get to visit every 2 hours for 30 minutes and though we try very hard not to ask too many questions and just "be there" she still gets tired on us. She will not be able to work again anytime soon, if ever. Daddy says that is just fine with him.
The cardiologist came to see Mom a little while ago and this is what we know from that conversation.
1. Mom is in CHF and a fib and will have this as an ongoing problem. CHF is Congestive Heart Failure and AF is the abnormal rhythm her heart is in. She has probably sustained some heart damage but he will not be able to tell that for up to two months. He still has fluid around her heart and in her lungs(CHF) despite having pulled off over 7 liters at this time.
2. He is starting her on coumadin tonight. This is a blood thinner and she will be on this forever. She will remain hospitalized for this as if she were to have a clot in her heart, it will break up with the coumadin and be pushed into her body causing her to have a stroke. She will also be on medication to control her heart rate and rhythm and prevent fluid retension from now on also.
3. She is getting IV Cardizem and Digitalis and these are bringing her heart rate down to 80-120 and as long as it stays within this range they will not shock her until she has had more healing time. She will be scheduled to have her heart shocked back into a normal sinus rhythm after her heart gets to rest a little longer. This will be after she is released from the hospital. There is no gaurantee that she will remain in normal rhythm and is expected to convert back into a fib and need cardioversion again. The difference will be that she (and we) will all be watching for any signs that her heart is messing up again.
4. Just flat do not know when they will feel comfortable letting her come home but she will be there through tomorrow. She is a one day at a time patient. When she does get to come home, she will have to take it easy from now on.

Mrs. Adams
Please put Mrs. Adams (Jos's mother)on your prayer list. She was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer last week. They doctors gave her 3-6 months to live. It was so far along that there was nothing they could do.
Jos and family will be going over on the 31st to visit with her and then will go back again when the time draws near the end.

I HAVE SKIN CANCER!!!
SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA
This is what was in my hair line on my forehead. It was probably comparable in size to the one in the picture. The doctor sliced it off this morning and then scooped it out a little bit and told me I would more than likely be back next week to get it scooped out a lot more to be sure and remove all the cancerous cells so that it doesn't spread. If I had not got this spot treated it would have killed/ eaten the flesh aound it. GROSS! I will also have to start wearing 30 SPF sunscreen all the time now. boo-hoo! bye-bye sun kissed skin. I love to have a good tan and now I'm going to have to join the "Whitest White Girl Club".

My precious, darling, wonderful, terd head son!
Well, as some of you know. Jonathan had a job at Kroger. Because that is where he wanted to work, because it wasn't so demeaning to him. Well, he lasted there about 2 weeks maybe three. Well, so he starts complaining a week before we go camping that he stays bored at work and isn't liking it very much and that this boy at church said they he could get him a job working at Taco Bell making $7 an hour. So I told him that if he wanted to work at Taco Bell that it was fine by me but he couldn't quit Kroger until the other job came thru for him.
Thursday that we are to go camping-
I call one of my buddies and ask her if Jonathan needed to come and mow her yard and she said yes and then she asks me about what Jonathan is going to do about money now that he doesn't have a job anymore. Excuse me!, I say. I tell her he still has a job he is just wanting to find a different one. She says, No, he told me Monday that he had quit on Sunday, the day before. Now mind you- he had went to work on Monday, Tuesday, even had to stay an hour late on Tuesday, and went to work on Wednesday and was going to be off on Thursday. The more I thought about it the madder I got and so I called James and told him to find out what was going on. In the mean time I called Kroger and found out that- in deed, Jonathan had quit Kroger on Sunday in the middle of his shift. KABOOM! I was ready to kill! Where in the crap had he been those days he left for work? Well, I call James back after I got tired of waiting on him to call me back and unload on him and tell him he better kill him before I get to the camper because I was over this BS. So, supposedly he took care of it and told him he had to start at McDonald's as soon as we got back from camping.
Monday the 7th-
I told Jonathan he had to go out and find a job or else that day. So he does just that. He is now working for Bunch Marine washing boats and doing all their weed eating. When I got home last night he was dead on the couch and I made him get up and go to his baseball camp only after resting for 25 minutes.
I have no mercy for him. He said last night it was a lot different than Kroger and I said well that is what you said you wanted something more laboring.
When will he ever learn? Why is he so stupid? Does he need counseling or do I?

A Perfect Storm boat outing

Our friend Kipper was going to let us borrow his pontoon boat for our vacation but it ended up not running so we had to go Saturday and drive to mom's house and bring their boat back by water. Cindy, Lloyd, Ethan and I set off from mom's to gray skies but nothing bad looking until we turned the curve at Southwest point and the sky started looking darker the farther we went. I was driving the boat and then decided to let LLoyd take over so I could enjoy myself. All of the sudden the wind started to pick up and it started white capping. I was getting nervous at that point. Then we saw this curtain of rain heading toward us and braced ourselves to get wet. That turned out to be a 30 second rain shower. We all laughed about that and hoped that would be all we would have to go thru.
Information note-
When I say we headed out for a boat ride I'm not talking about a 15-20 minute ride from mom's to Hornsby. It honestly takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get from point A to point B. That is going wide open and no stopping.
Back to the story-
Well, about 20 minutes later it got really dark and we could see lightning in the distance, boats were passing us going the opposite direction, people putting on life jackets. I started to get really nervous then. Then it started to rain, then it started really thundering and lightning all around us. Then it started to monsoon! Waves crashing down on the boat pouring rain flying every direction it could blow. Cindy pushes Ethan in the potty room on the boat. The room is only about a 3' x 3' cubby hole when it is not extended up. Ethan is crying and screaming, Lloyd is asking me what he should do (like I'm some experienced boat captain), I'm sitting there covered up by a towel praying for my Blessed Lord and Savior to save us from a horrible death and praying non-stop mind you! Cindy would raise her head up from trying to console Ethan and look at me for re-assurance and all I could do was give her a look of fear. Lloyd was having to hold has hand over his mouth to be able to breath because the rain was blowing right at us. After what seemed like an eternity the storm let up for about a minute and Ethan sticks his head out of the cubby hole he was in and looks to see what was going on and he looks at the water and see this piece of drift wood floating in the watyer and screams "Oh shit! It's an alligator!" and climbs back in his hole. Then we went back into storm mode and rode up and down crashing waves, at times there was about 4 inches of water rolling to the back of the boat and Ethan was screaming that we were taking on water. I can honestly say that I thought we might die. Had Lloyd not been on that boat with me and Cindy navigating that boat up and down those waves we probably would have. He said that his wrists were hurting so bad from trying to stear the boat into the waves. His fingers were even wrinkled like raisens from all the water.
When we finaly got to our camp site the storm had ripped thru there and broke one of the windows on my camper and broke my canopy.
Attached is a picture of what we think we looked like in the storm.

A camping vacation
We left for our annual camping vacation on Wednesday, June 25. We stayed 11 nights at Hornsby Hollow camp ground. We got our camp set up and James went to work that night and ther kids and I stayed in the camper. I got up and went to work on Thursday and James got back there that morning about 9 am. They all layed around and swam and fished. Once I got off from work and got down there about 5:30, vacation finally got started! We stayed up kind of late the first night and got up early the next morning and made breakfast.
Our days consisted of- get up when we got up, usually around 9 am. Make a big late breakfast of biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon or sausage. We even had pancakes and french toast some mornings. We snacked for lunch and had giant size dinners. When we go camping we cook just like we were at home. Here is a listing of our dinners:
Steak, salad, veggies
Hot dogs and chili, slaw
Roast, potatoes and carrots
Spaghetti and bread
Hamburgers
Buddy's BBQ and fixings
Goulash, fried potatoes, slaw
We went out to dinner 4 of the nights. We ate at the River Road Market and Mr. Twisters. If you have never went to Meigs county it is well worth the drive to eat at these 2 places! They are right on the main drag on River road. Mr.Twisters is a diner so to say with delicious ice cream. The River Road Market has home made pizza and great sub sandwiches.
A few highlights from the trip are:
Laying in the sun every day
Having great weather for 95% of the time
Not getting sun burned just a little pink then to brown
Ethan learning to ride his bicycle
I will post some pictures later today or tomrrow. I will also be posting some more on the trip.

Student Council Vice President
My good-sweet-little Audrey was nominated by the teachers for a seat in the Student Council. Little did we know that she would be in a tie for the Presidents spot. Audrey and a girl that is an upcoming Senior were in a tie! It all came down to one thing that seperated them. One being a Sophomore and the other a Senior. So they gave it to the girl that is a Senior. I'm still very proud of her! Especially knowing that the teachers had to nominate her for the role. She is such a blessing to me and everyone she comes in contact with. She is the light of my life!
She has set so many goals for herself in life-
- Not focusing on getting a boyfriend- but keeping her eye on the prize- BASKETBALL.
- Being a STARTING Sophomore in Basketball, since our first game is against Kingston this upcoming year.
- The teachers told her that if she stays on track with her grades and the classes she is taking that she would be an academic scholar.
- Being a good driver. (Everyone keep us in your prayers on that one)

My diagnosis- very grim
Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests:
I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table,
put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back
on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think,
since I'm going to be near the mailbox
when I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Coke aside
so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Coke is getting warm,
and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke,
a vase of flowers on the counter
catches my eye--they need water.
I put the Coke on the counter and
discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers,
but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to
remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,
and I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem,
and I'll try to get some help for it,
but first I'll check my e-mail....
Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming

Happy Mother's Day
This is my mom from nearly 40 years ago and now.
I just wanted to let you know Mom how much I love you and appreciate you. You have given me a great upbringing and I could never tell you enough how much I appreciate that.

Farmer Kelley
I have decided this year to plant a garden. Two weeks ago I bought some seeds and little plants and got the ball rolling for this garden. Jonathan rototillared (sp?) the area and then when he got tired Audrey and I came in behind him and finished it off. I planted red and yellow tomatoes, green pepper, strawberries, cabbage, cantalope and watermelon. I bought the seeds for cucumbers, squash, zucchini and carrots. I will be transplanting those into the big garden this weekend now that they are big enough. I just last night started some broccoli seeds and asparagus. Asparagus is going to be cool to grow. You plant it once and it comes back for 20 years! I will post a picture later.

My trip to the Dermatologist
I got an appointment for me and the kids to get our moles checked out. Jonathan had several warts on his hands and wanted them removed and Audrey had something on the palm of her hand and needed it checked out, so we all loaded up and went on the 22nd. The main reason for us going was that I had this lump on my head that had started bothering me and wanted it checked out.
So we all get in the room and she starts looking us all over and Jonathan didn't have any suspicious moles, nor did I. She froze his warts and he was done. Then she shaved Audrey's palm where a calous had formed over the top of a wart. Then she froze her wart. The Audrey had a strange looking mole and the doctor decided it needed to be removed and she took it off and stitched it up. After they got done I sent them off to school and then it was my turn to have this lump looked at.
The doctor looked at it and said that it was a cyst and that I could either have it removed or injected with steroids to see if it would shrink. I thought, no way! Just remove the dang thing! So she injected it with something to numb it and then I felt like part of my head was missing. She made an incision and removed this thing from my scalp that looked just like a macadamia nut. It was huge, but yet cool at the same time! She cut it open and it was full of oil. After that, she stitched me up.
When I got home that night I was explaining it to James and he was about to die, in the mean time I had gotten a macadamia nut out of the freezer and was holding it in my hand to show to James the resemblance when Audrey walks in the room, she had this look of horror because she thought that I was holding the cyst. When I got through talking, I just popped the nut in my mouth and Audrey almost fainted. It was hilarious!
I know- GROSS STORY!

Reflections...
As I sit here at work not doing a darned thing I often look at other people's blogs. I even look at people's blogs that I don't even know. They are usually linked to some of my friends and sometimes not. It causes me to see the different ways people view their lives. Some never put pictures, some only use it for a journal and some use this as a way for friends and family to keep in touch with each other. I'm not sure why I do mine, maybe so others can see what all is going on in my life.
I guess that I use my blog as a way for others to see a glimpse into my life. I don't even know if anyone really even looks at my blog, but I hope that you do.
Enough of the deep thoughts- I hope you find my life as insane as I do.
